Tailoring magnetic anisotropy and optical characteristics of nanostructural Co films by oblique angle deposition

Thin Co films on inclined Si(001) substrates were obtained by electron-beam evaporation. It has been established that at angles of incidence the evaporated material substrate more than 80 o (oblique angle deposition), arrays free-standing nanocolumns with a cross section 25 nm and an aspect ratio (length/transverse size) least 15 are formed surface. In this case, magnetic easy axis film is oriented along nanocolumns, which leads to appearance normal component magnetization vector When rotation turned on, array nanospirals formed. With fast (30 rpm), approaches At slow (0.6 pm), nanocoils formed, imparting pronounced chiral properties film. Keywords: nanostructuring, thin films, oblique deposition, structures.
